Nashville's Only Fine Arts Middle School
Welcome to Isaiah T. Creswell School of the Arts. Nashville, TN's only Fine Arts Middle School. We are a magnet school serving grades 5th-8th and since we are a magnet school any student in MNPS can apply to attend our school.
Students that attend our school take 2 performing, musical, or visual arts classes that are year long, in addition to their academic classes. We also are one of the few middle schools in metro to offer honor classes in all grades and subjects.
About Isaiah T. Creswell
Our school is named after Isaiah T. Creswell, the first African-American to serve on the Metropolitan Nashville School Board. He was elected in 1996 by mayor Beverly Brilley.
Mr.Creswell was born in Mississippi and graduated from Fisk University, where he went on to later become an instructor.
Middle school can be a very awkward and stressful time for students and parents! One goal, at Creswell, is to help make this time the best it can be and to be there for your student for the success and the failures - there will be both!
We strive to help develop your student's whole well-being from social and emotional learning to developing technical art skills to learning how to plan and take notes - we want your student to be prepared for high school and life!
We will challenge your student academically, creatively, socially, emotionally, and artistically - all within the safe spaces we create in our classrooms.
